Upcoming Music Events
The UK is famous around the world for music events with headliners including the most popular groups whilst also supporting and showcasing the best new bands. We will have to wait until 2019 for the next Glastonbury festival, but there are many other music events events in the UK to enjoy before then.
Here are a few:
Isle of Wight Festival, Newport: 21-24 June 2018
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Isle of Wight Festival is one of the UK's most famous rock and pop music festivals with a worldwide reputation for fantastic line-ups including Queen, Jay Z, David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac. Also twice awarded Family Festival of the Year, almost 60,000 enjoy the music, theatre, film, and comedy.
Boomtown, Winchester: 16-19 August 2018
Now in its 10th year, BoomTown is a music festival held at Matterley Estate, nr. Winchester, Hampshire. Billed as a music, arts and family festival, BoomTown’s 2017 headliners were The Specials, M.I.A. and Cypress Hill. Here you can be chilling out to folk music one minute and listing to heaving drum and bass the next.
Bestival, Lulworth Castle, Dorset: Dates to be announced (usually September)
Bestival is one of the UK's most famous music festivals, popular for its hugely diverse line-ups, which includes comedy, theatre, circus and art. Music at Bestival is equally diverse, spanning indie, rock, house, reggae, hip-hop and more. The 2017 line-up included A Tribe Called Quest, Pet Shop Boys and Andy C.

Boardmasters, Fistral Beach & Watergate Bay, Newquay: August 2018

Watch the pros in action whilst listening to your favourite pop, dance and folk soundtracks. Headliners in 2017 were Two Door Cinema Club, Jamiroquai, alt-J, Andy C
Camp Bestival, Lulworth Castle, Dorset: July 2018
Acts: Confirmed acts include Underworld, Clean Bandit and Kaiser Chiefs.
The family version of Bestival has everything from face-painting to jousting. Music, comedy and poetry are all included with acts already confirmed including Underworold and Kaiser Chiefs.

Download Festival, Donington Park, Derby: 8-10 June 2018
A massive 3 day rock event, based at the spiritual home of rock at Donington Park. Headliners in 2017 were System of a Down, Biffy Clyro, Aerosmith. Headliners for 2018 have yet to be announced for probably the most prestigious festival for heavy metal and hard rock.
Green Man Festival, Brecon Beacons, Wales: August 2018
With a backdrop on the Brecon Beacons’ Black Mountains, the festival has a folk line up that fits the surroundings perfectly. Headliners in 2017 were PJ Harvey, Ryan Adams and Future Islands. The festival also includes 1500 performers across the fields of literature, comedy and theatre.
